It's funny what gets me excited these days...

After the rough day we had with our chicken loss, we went and ordered more from the feed store.  I mentioned that we had ordered 27 and got 11.  Well........  hold on to your socks...... we ordered 44.  44??!!!  OH MY!!!  We ordered with the idea that some won't make shipping again.  But imagine if they do.  LOLOLOLOL!!!!  That will really be something.  We ordered extra roosters this time, so hopefully at least one of them will make the shipping.  We ordered some Araucana.  Also known as the easter egg chicken, because they lay different colored eggs.  And, we ordered some guineas.  I'm hoping that with that large of an order we will be eating some of them.  And, we will also be able to hatch some so we don't have to buy anymore at least for some time. 

I also have to tell about something that happened last week that made me very happy.  Growing up my sis, Miss Kitty, and I and our folks were very close with my cousins, aunts and uncle.  When my sis got married that stopped talking to her.  It was weird!   Then when I got married, just three years ago, that was it, they stopped talking with me also.  Two of those cousins and I used to exchange birthday phone calls each year and then nothing. I sent Christmas cards and heard nothing. And it hurt.  And, I have to admit it also made me angry.  Well, Aunty has moved in with us and her birthday is April 7th and mine is several days later, well oldest cousin called.  And....he spoke with me!!!!  That was nice.  And it was long overdue.  And did I mention, it was nice.  I asked him about the silence.  He didn't have an answer and that's ok.  At least we are now talking again.  I hope it's more often then birthdays, but even that would be enough.
